Our starfish room is designed to offer a warm, nurturing environment which imitates a homely feel. The educators implement a program which fosters children’s awareness of themselves and the world around them. 

The program also focuses on sensory learning and development which prepares children for future learning. We pride ourselves on building positive and trusting relationships with the children and their families and understand that consistency is key for children in the first 2 years of life, and so the program reflects each individual child’s development, needs and interests.

Our focus on providing secure relationships is so your baby can develop a sense of belonging and confidence. Prior to enrolment, our orientation program allows families to express to educators their child’s routines, goals, interests and learning needs. All routines from home are implemented here at the service.

Updates of your child’s learning and engagement in the program are uploaded daily via our online documentation platform, story park.

Activities

Our on-going children’s development program offers educational and recreational programs which are designed to optimise the creativity, mental and physical advancement of your child. Self expression is encouraged through a wide variety of indoor and outdoor activities, such as music, arts and crafts. Children’s interests are supported and encouraged through individual and group stimuli, all in the name of fun!

Meals

We provide morning tea and afternoon tea daily, which means you can pack and prepare your child’s favourite foods for lunch. This also means your child will develop the skills to open their lunch boxes and packets before they get to Kindergarten.

Education

Caves Beach ELC have a strong belief in providing an educational program that encourages children to explore, create and investigate the world around them.

Our program is centered around play- based learning, spontaneous experiences that derive from educator observations and children’s interests and input from our families and community.

We research and plan experiences that are thoughtful, meaningful and take into account children’s age, abilities and strengths./p>

FAQ

What are the Centres operating hours?

The Centre is open from 7:00am to 6:00pm Monday to Friday.

Are meals provided?

The centre provides breakfast, morning tea, afternoon tea and a late afternoon snack. All meals are nutritionally balanced. Parents are asked to provide their child’s lunch.

What do I need to bring?

A labelled bag including your child’s lunch; cot-sized bed sheets; water bottle; pillow; spare clothes and a hat.

Is it affordable?

Our daily fees are set competitively relative to other childcare centres in the Caves Beach area.

The Centre is registered to provide Child Care Subsidy (CCS) assistance to families. CCS is means tested and is available to eligible families..

Maddie has worked with children of all ages but is now room leader of the Shiny starfish room.

Maddi has recently completed her Diploma in early childhood education and care. Maddi’s
is passionate about creating a happy and fun environment for the children to feel safe,
secure and supported throughout their learning journeys. Maddi follows a hands-on
learning approach ensuring all children gain a sense of resilience and satisfaction.

Meet Kylie. Kylie is a mother of three and has been working within the Early Learning Education sector for 17 years. She has a Diploma in Early Education along with a Certificate 4 in Training and Assessment, qualifying her ability to teach within the early education sector.

Kylie’s passion for education started at a young age when she would volunteer during the school holidays at a cousin’s day care.

She believes that when children feel safe, secure and supported in their environment, they can form secure attachments and form a sense of belonging. As the leader of the Baby Room, she places utmost importance on creating a nurturing space where children’s routines are consistent with that at home.

Kylie strongly believes that each child is an individual, with unique strengths, skills and abilities and with positive scaffolding, children can thrive and develop a love for learning, right from the word go.
